It worked a treat and it was the perfect half an hour activity for after school. <br /></div><div><div style="text-align: justify;">You need to snap crayons into small pieces and then place them into an ice cube tray. I asked Ana to combine the colours as she pleased and that single task took her a good 15 minutes. Then we popped them in the oven for about 10 minutes where they melted. I started doing the nice bit, choosing fabrics and unevenly sewing them together. Then it was left unfinished for many months until I eventually learnt (bother learning) how to finish it properly, mainly how to do the binding. So now I can (I think) make a quilt. Hooray! Well...kind of... I can see plenty of adding, removing, changing... but that's the sort of thing I like. An outgoing process, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">ever changing</span>, never quite finished.<br /><br />I used the lovely wool felt that <a href="http://www.gentlytiptoe.blogspot.com/"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">gentlytiptoe</span> </a>gave me ages ago, a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"><a href="http://www.linumireland.ie/fabric.htm">Linum</a></span> table runner (which was the inspiration for the color scheme), some vintage fabric (Thanks to my great local charity shops) and old buttons (some lovely glass ones are some of my favourites). Did I mention I started it last year? I <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">certainly</span> did and it was going to be quite different to how's turned out, but I'm kind of pleased. When asked she said it was a "prinsenita" which it's her own Spanish word for "princess". Princesses are a big theme around here at the moment. Not one I would go for myself but she is totally obsessed by them. Don't know where this comes from as she's never read or watched anything about them with us.
