Andy Harper interpreted by Ana

This amazing work by Andy Harper (An Orrery for Other Worlds) is in our local art gallery

It is a massive (about 1.5 meters in diameter) white acrylic ball that has been covered with oils to recreate patterns of some kind of jungle/forest/amazing flora and fauna from this planet and other worlds. The detail, precision and fluidity is amazing and these pictures don't do it much justice. This work was commissioned and made specifically for the gallery space.

On our visit children were encouraged to take inspiration and interpret it in their drawing books

Some strange creatures were spotted by Ana...

And some nature shapes...

Then she had to transfer them into...

... a nature mask

and here it is,  the end result...

A jungle princess (as described by her)
